Dr. Loveleen Johri

Dr Loveleen Johri is a Senior Public Health Specialist with more than thirty years of experience in clinical and public health including managing and implementing large government and donor funded bilateral and multilateral health and nutrition programs at United States Agency for International Development (USAID), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and CARE in India.

Most recently, Dr Loveleen Johri has been consulting with USAID, World Health Organisation (WHO)/ India Country Office, South East Asia Regional Office (SEARO)/ WHO, and with an International Finance Corporation (IFC)/ World Bank funded project.

As Senior Health and Policy Advisor at the DHHS, U. S. Embassy, New Delhi, India, Loveleen was responsible for leading DHHS Health Diplomacy efforts with the Government of India/Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and other stakeholders.

Loveleen has strong representational, technical and managerial skills including establishing cutting edge, innovative health projects, such as, establishing Social Franchising network clinics for maternal and child health and family planning services, in partnership with the state governments and private sector; providing technical and managerial direction to major projects, etc.

Loveleen is a member of a number of professional organizations including Indian Public Health Association, Indian Medical Association, Association of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Delhi and Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society of India. Loveleen has a number of publications in national and international journals to her credit.

A medical graduate of 1977 batch, Loveleen practiced clinical Obstetrics and Gynaecology for sixteen years. Her passion for Public Health led her to seek second post-graduate degree and she is currently pursuing Public Health as a full time career. She holds two post graduate Masters Degrees: 1) Masters in Community Health Administration and 2) Diplomate National Board in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Mr. Manoj Gopalakrishna

Mr. Manoj Gopalakrishna

Manoj Gopalakrishna, a Wharton Alumnus, has been working in India’s health sector over the last twenty-five years. He started his career in HLL Lifecare (HLL), a Government of India owned health care company. He has held progressively growing career responsibilities in HLL and has played a pivotal role in enabling global alliances and collaborations for driving its transformation from being condom manufacturer to a progressive health care company with presence in pharma, medical devices and healthcare delivery. During his stint in HLL, he has also engaged extensively at senior levels of health sector policy making at state and federal level in India, and has implemented many public health programs in collaboration with government and development institutions.

Post his career at HLL Lifecare, he has led the South Asia operations of Becton Dickinson & Co (Becton Dickinson (BD) is a US$10 bn medical technology company) for four years. During his stint at BD, he was a member of its Global Leadership Team and has played a substantive role in driving company’s growth in Asia region. The South Asia operations he led had reported consistent leveraged growth and reported a CAGR of 15%. He grew the operations to a revenue of US$130 mn with a low cost manufacturing base and regionwide clinical marketing, sales, servicing and distribution infrastructure. Through innovative shared value creation programs, he has helped address critical challenges in region’s health sector leveraging BD’s core capabilities. He has shaped and led BD’s collaborative work in India in areas of Infection Control, Healthcare Quality, TB Diagnosis, HIV treatment monitoring, neonatal sepsis and diabetes education in collaboration with private health care providers, medical associations, governments and international development agencies.

Manoj’s last career assignment was with HCL Corporation as CEO of their healthcare business. HCL Healthcare in affiliation with Johns Hopkins Medicine International runs ambulatory care centres and corporate health programs in Delhi NCR, offering comprehensive primary healthcare and preventive healthcare.

Currently Manoj, along-with a team of health care professionals, is incubating a health services company, Prozela Healthcare, which works with health care providers, start-ups and medical technology companies in creating at wider access to quality healthcare at affordable cost and driving healthcare transformation.

Manoj also serves as Chairman of Biosense Technologies and Go To Market Adviser for AIndra Technologies

Vivek is a blossoming guitarist, a black belt in Taekwondo and an avid writer, who writes blogs for social, technical & policial reforms.
